Bush lima. Reddish brown seeds with dark red-brown mottling of varying intensity, from sparse to extensive. Full plants, growing 1-2' tall. Slightly curved pods with short beaks. 2-4 seeds per pod. Mature pods measure 2.4-3" long by 0.7-0.9" wide. Dry limas are starchy, dry, and mealy with a mild flavor with a slightly tannic, thick, skin. Early maturing. Low productivity when grown in 2013 at Heritage Farm. Donated to SSE in 1987 by Doris (Glade) Vogel. Doris' family lived in Adair County, Iowa in 1929 when her mother originally purchased this variety. SSE Accession # 112657
