Deer's tongue. Small upright plants measure 7.5-8.7" tall and 11.0-13.8" in diameter at market maturity. Dark green and red triangular, blistered leaves. Largest leaves measure 7.3-8.3" long and 5.3-5.7" wide. Early maturing. Dark brown seeded. Donated to SSE in 1990 by Lucille Reeves of Oklahoma City, OK. She first obtained this variety in the mid to late 1970s from a friend named Mary Gamble. Mary received it from a neighbor who had gotten it from two elderly aunts in Bowie, TX named Suzie Shires and Gracie Adams. Reportedly grown by the family in Texas for multiple generations.
