Pole habit. Best used as a dry bean. Average white bean flavor. Strongly climbing, leafy plants. Small pods are green when immature and turn yellow with a light purple stripe pattern at maturity. Fully expanded pods measure 4.3-5.1" long and 0.3-0.4" wide. 7-9 seeds per pod. Small, white oval seeds. Above average productivity. White flowers. Plants tend to set pods all at once. Dry pods in mid August. Donated to SSE in the early 1980s by Dr. W.J. Arvin of Hopeful Acres Farm in Lancaster, Kentucky. Dr. Arvin's father, "Hube," grew this variety for many years.
