Broomcorn. Seeds tan with red tip, plump, obovate, partly corneous. Red glumes entirely cover the grain. Plants 8.5-11' tall, 0-4 tillers per plant with zero most common. Plants have extensive red pigment throughout, will add red color to brooms. Midseason maturity. About 5% of plants had lodging when grown at Heritage Farm in 2013. Canes not juicy. Acquired by SSE through Glenn Drowns (IA DR G). This is a broomcorn Glenn obtained from Louise Bastable (MA BA L). Louise received the variety in 1988 from George Darby (KY DA G). Darby acquired the variety locally in Kentucky. SSE Accession # 119295
