Rossa di Trento

A red-green lettuce that was fairly non-uniform when grown at Heritage Farm in 2020. Two distinct types were noted -those that form a slight loose head (2/9 plants) and those that don't (7/9 plants). those that did not form a head bolted earlier than those that did. Leaves have a moderate red blush and are slightly wavy with low blistering. Flavor is rather strong, bitter and astringent with a little sweetness and a chewy texture. Good vigor and performance overall. Plants are between 15.5and 19.5 inches wide and 8.5 inches high. SSE Accession # 111658
