Organic Listing
A hot, large-fruited chiltepin (wild chili pepper) selected for its robustness and spicy, smoky flavor by Alfredo Noriega in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. Plants grow 2-3' tall, like shade but tolerate full sun, large fruited variety. Garbanzo-sized hot red fruit. Birds in the southwest know what these are and love the ripe fruit, so protect with row covers or cheesecloth in that region. Grows well in pots and overwinters indoors easily in colder climates, producing reliably for years. Larger quantities available.
