VEGETABLES / TOMATO
ORANGE-YELLOW
AKA Margaret Best Yellow "Tommy Toe". Per Sustainable Mountain Agriculture Center: "From Lee County, Virginia, this somewhat oblong tommy toe is a heavy yielder with a good flavor. Unlike the modern cherry tomato which has been bred for sweetness, the traditional tommy toes have a rich tomato flavor and smell and many individuals and families continue growing their favorite heirloom varieties. Most are quite disease resistant and continue bearing long after larger tomatoes have disappeared from the garden." Vines rampant, exceeding 10 feet. 1oz fruit. Nice, old time flavor. Tastes like a typical heirloom, not a cherry tomato. Very prolific.
