C. annuum. This is a gorgeous ornamental pepper! The leaves are variegated and the peppers mature from dark purple through green to red. The flowers are purple and white and the stems are mostly purple. The fruits grow on 2 ft tall plants in erect, horizontal, and pendant positions. They are oval shaped and look alomost like Christmas lights. They measure 1" long and 0.5" wide. This pepper is not good to eat. Mid season maturing. SSE Accession # 117459
