Globe tomato. Round red fruit are fairly blemish free and have slight ribbing at the stem end. Fruit found in clusters up to 4. Flesh is slightly pink colored. Fruit measure 2.5-3 inches long, 2.25-3.75 inches wide, and weigh up to 12 ounces. Semi-determinate plants have standard leaves and flowers have inserted styles. Average productivity and time to maturity when grown in 2016 at Heritage Farm. Highly disease free and held on well through the entire growing season. Good tasting tomato for a variety specifically bred for disease resistance. Acquired by SSE in the 1980s. This is an open-pollinated variety developed by Dr. Mannon Gallegly of WVU from 1950-1962. It was released in 1963 to commemorate West Virginia's 100th birthday and has reported resistance to late blight, Fusarium and Verticillium wilt. SSE Accession # 121903
