Sanguinaria canadensis; white flowers and distinctive lobed round leaves; bright orange/red rhizome. Rich in the alkaloids berberine and sanguinarine; used in making bloodroot salve. Was used in treating skin cancers by the famous Dr. Omar Palmer of Hurley, Missouri. Must be used very carefully as it is potentially toxic. Root starts will be sent. From: MO TA L 2015.
