Blauwkop

Purple top, elliptic roots. Base of root and flesh are light yellow-white. Roots 5-6 inches long, 3-3.5 inches wide at maturity. Long necks. Smooth skin. Roots are half-buried in soil. Leaves are long and droopy and non-pigmented. Plants 18-26 inches tall. Rather bitter and sour flavor when grown in 2017 at Heritage Farm. SSE Accession # 119205
