C. annuum. Ancho pepper. Triangular to heart-shaped, deep red fruit at maturity. Often used at the immature, dark green stage when fruit are stuffed to make chile relleno. Mild to medium heat when ripe. Crunchy and juicy texture and moderately sweet. Semi-wrinkled skin. Fruit measure 3-5" long, 2-2.5" wide, and weigh 2-3oz. Fairly thin walls. Plants grow up to 30" tall. Green leaves and stems. White flowers. Moderate productivity when grown in 2023 at Heritage Farm. Late maturing. SSE Accession # 116328
