New Zealand Pear

Pink pear shaped fruit with green shoulders. Good sauce tomato; moderate acidity; mild tomato flavor. 4-5 fruit per cluster. Fruit weigh 6-9oz, measure 3-4" long and 2.5-3" wide. Indeterminate plants measure 4.5-6' tall. Regular leaf type. Mid season maturity. Brix 5.9. Moderate productivity when grown on Heritage Farm in 2018. Donated to SSE by Susan Clausen (TX CL S) who originally received the variety in 1976 from friend and native New Zealander, Rae Amussen of Minnesota. It was grown by Amussen's father in New Zealand. Used by Clausen for fresh eating, ketchup and barbeque sauce. SSE Accession # 125880
