Bush habit. Plants grow 1-2' tall. Slightly curved pods, 2.5-3.0" long and 0.7-0.85" wide. Non-pigmented, dark green plants. White flowers. 2-3 seeds per pod. Seeds tan colored with dark maroon mottling; some have extensive mottling, appearing almost solid. Medium-large sized. Dry limas have a mild flavor and meaty, creamy texture. Limas hold their pattern nicely during cooking. Average productivity. Mid-season maturing. Ross and Arlene Pinkerton received this variety circa 1960 from Ross' sister-in-law, Ellen Pinkerton (1902-1993). A family favorite handed down from Ellen's parents, Lewis and Mary Nichols, who farmed near Bedford, IA. SSE Accession # 112787
