Sweet sorghum. Seeds straw colored, large, plump, mostly starchy. Red glumes cover half the grain. Panicle compact, elliptic. Plants 7.5-10' tall, 0-4 tillers per plant with 1 most common. Plants mostly green but red pigment is occasionally found in leaf-midribs and basal nodes. Midseason maturity. No lodging when grown at Heritage Farm in 2013 or 2024. Canes juicy, slightly sweet. Donated to SSE by Douglas Terrell (IN TE D). This is a sweet sorghum acquired by Terrell in 1988 from Glenn Drowns (IA DR G). It's documented to at least 1935 in a publication by the U.S. Forest Service. SSE Accession # 119317
