Japanese Imperial Long

Dark orange, imperator type carrots that is long, tapered and pointed. Roots are between 0.9-1.5 inches wide and between 6.7-10 inches long with flat shoulders. Flavor is slightly spicy with a strong carrot flavor that can be a little harsh and slightly lacking in sweetness with a rather soft texture. Cores are orange and occasionally yellow. Roots have moderate lateral root growth in the upper portions and have a moderate tendency to branch but a low cracking tendency. 3 of 24 plants bolted when grown in the summer at Heritage Farm in 2020.
