Baby Spinel

This is a small, round, red fleshed beet with distinct rings. It measure 1.5-2" wide, 2.5-3" long, and weigh 6-9 oz. The beets taste earthy and sweet. It had a BRIX of 6. The beets sit medium in the soil and the plants have green leaves with purple petioles, though some leaves have a purple blush. They are 1-1.5' tall. Acquired by SSE from Nichols Garden Nursery of Oregon. SSE Accession # 106271
