Beautiful, purple-skinned carrot with orange interior. Vivid colors, beautiful contrast. Danvers type. 5-7 inches long. Broad shoulders, tapering to a point. Excellent carrot flavor that is both strong and pleasant but not harsh. Sweet. Strong tops with purple petioles. Tops are rather brittle, however, and sometimes snap off during harvest. Hairy petioles. Brix of 11 in 2020 season at Heritage Farm. SSE acquired this variety from the A P Whaley Seed Company. SSE Accession # 133545
