Red, medium-sized beefsteak tomato. Oblate (flattened) with strongly depressed shoulders. Strong ribbing at the stem end. Severe radial cracking on most fruit; slight concentric cracking. Cat-face appearance common. Fruit born singly or in clusters of up to three. Indeterminate growth habit. Standard leaves. Stigmas even with stamens. Ripe fruit measure 1.9-2.9" long by 2.3-3.8" wide and weigh 4-11 oz.. Good flavor. Moderately sweet and juicy. Slightly tough skin. Highly productive when grown in 2013 at Heritage Farm. Mid-season maturing. Donated to SSE by Norma Wall who received it from Mary Unger. Mary first received the variety as a young bride in 1941. It was given to Mary by neighbors who had brought them to Canada from France many years before that. SSE Accession # 127571
