VEGETABLES / BEAN
SNAP-POLE
Pole. Green string bean. 5-6 inches long, curved at the tip. Round in cross section. Very late maturing. 6-7 seeds per pod. Small, white, oval seeds. Moderately productive. Wilma Hatter of Kings Mountain, Kentucky shared this variety with SSE in 2002 when she was 75 years old. Willma said that it’s a pole bean which her great-grandmother saved from her family. Wilma grew the plants on long cane poles arranged in a tripod shape. She also used this bean for canning. SSE Accession # 129251
