Landrace from Daghestan area of former USSR. Pleasant and mild carrot flavor. White to light yellow tapering roots. Dimpled and ridged skin. Intermediate core size. Roots measure 3.2-6.0" long, 1.0-1.7" wide and weigh 2-3.5oz. Yellow-green leaves. Plants are semi-erect, tops are not very tall or thick. Petioles and leaves are quite hairy. Plants measure 1.0-1.2' tall. Roots are buried deep in the soil. Low tendency to bolt. Brix 9.8. This variety was donated to SSE by Eilif Aas (NORW AA E) who received it from Brian Smith (ENGL SM B). Smith began listing this variety in the 1997 SSE Yearbook Exchange where he described it as a landrace from the Daghestan area of former USSR, which he acquired from the UK Gene Bank.
