Illinois Snap

VEGETABLES / BEAN
SNAP-BUSH
57 - 60/snap 90 days dry, Plants are 18-20" tall. Grew and ate these in 2014. Found the green oval pods to be of good bean flavor, tender and stringless up to 7 and 8 inches in length. Cooked pods remain a bit darker green that other varieties and have more body or firmness. A Washington state gardener who has grown the snap bean Jade for a number of years tells me Illinois Snap is several steps above Jade in flavor. Seeds are bit larger than most snap beans and jet black in color. Discovered in my Capron, Illinois garden in late summer of 1979 and named by me.
