Blackstone

Large oblong fruit has smooth dark green skin with longitudinal grooves. Fruit 8-12" long, 7-11" wide, and weigh 9.5-25 lbs. Rind 0.5-1" thick. Fruit size is variable. Seeds brown with black dots. Pink to red flesh is stringy and somewhat sweet. Fruit is prone to hollow heart. Moderate productivity and mid season maturing when grown in 2014 at Heritage Farm. SSE Accession # 127779
