Bency

A tasty turnip! Raw roots have dense flesh and are very juicy and sweet with a hint of bitterness. White roots with purple tops are elliptic to round and grow above the soil line. Roots are 2-3" long, 2.25-4.25' wide, and weigh 5-20 oz. Turnip type, long top leaves have a purple midvein. Plants 10-20" tall and 14-32" in diameter. Some variation in root coloration. Most roots are solid purple, while a few are purple on top fading to white below. Intensity of purple coloration varies from dark to light. Early maturing compared to other varieties.
