Pole. Dry. Vigorous vine grew to 10 feet, had white flowers, and produced 8 inch flat pods. Although some eat them as snaps, I never have. This bean is also known as Miami Ohio Pole or the Ohio Pole. I grew this bean ten feet away from my Zona Upchurch bean this year and they were the same in every aspect. I conclude that this is the same bean. Heirloom originally grown by the Miami people who occupied territory that is now identified as Indiana, southwest Michigan, and western Ohio.
