Green to purple-green petioles and midveins. Erect growth habit. Roots measure 3-7" long; 2.5-5" wide; and weigh 0.4-1.3lbs. Plants grow 1-1.5' tall and 2-3.5' wide. This variety was stewarded by Miss Gladys McGee of Potsdam, New York and by her father John T. McGee (b.1863-d.1934) also of Potsdam. After Gladys McGee's death in 1977, her neighbor, Mary-Ann Cateforis (NY CA M2), rescued and saved the last rutabaga plant from Gladys' garden. Mary-Ann named the variety for her and began offering it in the SSE Yearbook Exchange. SSE member Will Bonsall (ME BO W) later donated seeds to SSE. SSE Accession # 119232
