Robert acquired this variety from his father, Rev. Charles G. Johnson, after the Reverend's death in 2004. The Rev. Johnson first acquired the variety at some point around 1985 when he retired to LaGrange. It was given to him by Carl Williams who lived two doors down from his home. Carl Williams was a retired “commercial farmer” from southern Georgia (near Albany, GA). He and his wife, Mary, brought the seeds of this variety with them when they retired to LaGrange.
