Summerlong

This vigorous green butterhead forms a moderately well developed, loose head at maturity. The leaves are highly blistered and the leaf edge is slightly curly. The plants are between 12-16 inches across and 7-8 inches high. This variety scored well in our taste evaluations at Heritage Farm in 2020, the leaves have great texture, a crisp midrib and a slightly sweet and buttery flavor. Matures in midseason and is late to bolt but has poor cold hardiness. SSE Accession # 111544
