Velarde

Landrace New Mexico chili usually grown in the valley of Velarde at high elevations. Red, cone-shaped, great roasted, stuffed or dried and ground into a rub or rehydrated for enchilada sauce. I grew these very successfully in zone 7a. They were very heat-tolerant and disease resistant. The last chili in my garden to succumb to cold weather.
