Doyle maintained it in his garden in Cuyahoga Falls, OH for as far back as Neil can remember. This pepper variety can be traced back two more generations to Neil’s grandfather, John E. Ware, and great-grandfather, (another) John E. Ware. Neil was told that this John E. Ware maintained the variety on his farm in Webster County, West Virginia as far back as 1904.
