This celery is light yellow-green and will self-blanch if closely spaced. Stalks are solid, juicy, mild, and a bit stringy. Forms a small heart. Foliage is dense, yellow-green and more intensely flavored. Plants reach 2.5-3.2' tall. Very uniform. This accession matches the description of Golden Plume listed in the 1925 Stokes catalogue. Acquired by SSE from Stokes Seeds (CV Sto). A variety named 'Golden Plume' came onto the U.S. market by the 1923, with references to it found in catalogs of that era. SSE Accession # 107338
