Osage Orange

{Maclura pomifera}, a.k.a. Hedge Apple, small tree, shiny leaves, thorns, softball-size green fruit with interesting texture, makes unusual fall decorations, non-edible, supposed to repel spiders, in the past was used for living livestock fences, seeds only, trees male or female. Collected from trees planted in 1850's.
