German Head

Pink beefsteak. Indeterminate growth, regular leaves. Good, full-bodied flavor. Moderately sweet with a thin skin. Juicy, soft, meaty texture. Fruit are variable in size. Strongly recessed stem end. Moderate to severe radial cracking on all fruit. 1-4 fruit per cluster. Ripe fruit measure 1.8-2.8" long by 2.6-4.2" wide and weigh 0.3-1lb. Slightly exserted, fasciated styles. Plants badly affected by septoria leaf spot in 2014 Heritage Farm growout. Average fruit set. Mid-season maturing. Acquired by SSE from Craig Le Houllier (NC LE C) who obtained it in 1989 from Gleckler's Seedsmen. SSE Accession # 123015
