HEAD
Butterhead. Moderately heading, uniform plants. Green, round leaves have strong blistering. Slightly undulating leaf margin. Plants average 6" tall and 10" in diameter. Largest leaves average 5.7" long by 6.3" wide. Excellent texture. Standard flavor, no bitterness. Early maturing. Donated to SSE by William Woys Weaver (PA WE W) who obtained the variety from Mary Schultz (WA SC M) in 1993. This is an early 19th century Pennsylvania Dutch variety. SSE Accession # 112393
