VEGETABLES / BEAN
DRY-POLE
This is a pole bean best eaten dry. The dry beans are a plump, cranberry type. The pods are green with light red stripes and are very wide. Pods contain 4-5 seeds. During the growout at Heritage Farm in 2019 this variety had low productivity. Donated to SSE by Mary Schultz (WA SC M) who appears to have received the variety in the late 1980s from Pam Valley via the "Washington State Centennial Seed Search." Pam's father, George Bremner of Lynden, Washington, grew and saved seeds of this bean for over 50 years. SSE Accession # 102582
