Long Tom

Pepper tomato. Long cylindrical red fruit have strong green coloring at the shoulders. Fruit measure 3.5-5.5 inches long, 1.75-2.4 inches wide, and weigh up to 9 ounces. Fruit in 2-5 per cluster. BRIX reading 6.2. Indeterminate plants with standard leaves and inserted styles. Mid-season maturing and above average productivity when grown in 2016 at Heritage Farm. A quality sauce tomato. Acquired by SSE in the early 1980s from Ben Quisenberry of Big Tomato Gardens in Syracuse, OH. Ben Quisenberry passed away in 1986 at the age of 99. SSE Accession # 121415
