VEGETABLES / TOMATO
RED
I ordered these seeds from Fedco Seeds 2016 Catalog. In 2016, I planted my transplants on May 29 and harvested my first ripe tomatoes on August 1 (64 days). The harvest continued through September. In total, I harvested over 400 lbs of fruit from the 32 plants. I saved seeds from one fruit on all the plants I planted. Fruits have very little seeds and are fantastic paste tomatoes from making salsa, tomato sauce and tomato paste. I highly recommend the variety for those looking for a great tasting and highly productive paste tomato. Seed produced in 2016.
Description from 2016 Fedco Seeds Catalog: Strong producer of oxheart fruits up to 8 oz with thick bright red flesh. Larger and better than Roma. Flavor has been consistently good even in poor tomato years. Wisconsin heirloom from Amish farmers in the 1870s, first surfaced in the 1987 SSE Yearbook. We have observed some inherent variation in fruit size depending on environment and nutrition.
