VEGETABLES / TOMATO
ORANGE-YELLOW
60" vine is a very late producer (95 days+ - 9/6 to 10/13 ripe) of large light orange fruits about 3" round (310 g) or 4 1/2x3 1/2x2/12" (370 g) or 5"x5"x3" (700 g- 24 oz =1 1/2 lb). Same color as Brandywine Apricot. Bill Minkey's were 12-20 ounce, 80 days to ripe (with more sun, further south). My first green fruits were on 7/20 and they grew slowly. They stopped setting fruit in 90s weather like most other of my tomatoes in 2020. Good variety for end of season after the Brandywines slow down, with excellent taste and disease resistance. If I had to pick one large tomato to grow this would be it. Very pretty. I can't find my photos but they look a lot like Dr. Wyche's Yellow (lots of online photos) and Bill says they are a cross of that with German Red Strawberry via Reinhardt Kraft in Germany. They may also have been stabilized by Sam Wammel of Ozark Missouri, hence the name. Two listers call it a good utility canner - easy to peel and fills jars fast. 2023 seed.
