Tiger Eye

VEGETABLES / BEAN
DRY-BUSH
Bush dry. From Argentina. Probably highly productive in full sun (I was given 4 lb seed) but not so happy in my shady yard. Seeds brick red or brown striped over dark mustard yellow, occasional seed mostly red with tiny mustard speckles but most just with a wide curved red swirly stripe, or evem mostly mustard, 3/4x3/8x1/4". Pods to 4"x1/2"x3/8" (probably larger with sun). Said to be good for refried beans because skin dissolves. Tasty. From 10 planted seeds, I got 3.2 ounces in 2014 (long season, enough rain), and 7-50 seeds per year in all later years including 18 in 2021. 70% germination of 5 year old seed. 15 seeds from 2020-2023.
