VEGETABLES / BEAN
SNAP-POLE
Pole bean best eaten in the snap stage. This variety has good eating qualities! It has a nice texture, snappy with no strings, and is juicy. It is slightly astringent, however. The pods are round and dark green with a light purple blush. They are slightly curved with a long beak and are 5-6" long. The plants are bushy at the base, but still have strongly climbing vines. The vines are slightly pigmented and the flowers are purple. The seeds are medium ovals with a tan background and black striping. During the 2021 growout at Heritage Farm this variety had severe anthracnose on the lower leaves and pods, though the plants grew out of the disease and the planting was still moderately productive. Mid season maturing. SSE Accession # 104422
