VEGETABLES / BEAN
DRY-BUSH
Bush bean to be eaten dry. Dry beans are small, white, and round to oval. They are plump and have an average flavor. Not hard seeded. Pods are solid green and are mostly short and wide, though some are longer. Pod length 3.5-4.7in. Flowers are white. Productivity was low, though this could be due to disease, which was present during the 2021 growout at Heritage Farm. Mid season maturity. Donated to SSE by Jim Tjepkema (MN TJ J) introduced this variety in the exchange in 1986 after acquiring seeds from his uncle, Jacob Tjepkema of Minnesota. Jacob was an avid gardener and seed saver who had grown this variety for many years after acquiring it from a family in Wisconsin. SSE Accession # 103101
