VEGETABLES / BEAN
DRY-BUSH
Bush bean. Best used as a dry bean. Plants average 18 inches tall, and were productive. Plants have pink flowers. Immature pods are solid green and 2.5-3 inches long. Mature pods are slightly lighter green than at the snap stage. Dry seeds are medium pink with white near one end and at the opposite side of the eye side. Similar pattern to Jacob's Cattle type been. Beans are oval in shape. Variety was of average hardiness, and matured nearly its entire seed crop in about 100 days. Seed coat pattern is apparently affected by temperature of the season or soil. Variety was grown by and evaluated by Seed Savers member Russell Crow. Seed Savers Exchange received this variety in the early 1980s. It's originally from Ernest Dana (NH DA E) of Etna, NH.
