VEGETABLES / CORN
DENT
White dent corn on large, hefty ears. Large kernels are regularly arranged. A few ears have faint to moderate purple streaks on the sides of the kernels (with some or most kernels displaying streaking), which is likely a condition called kernel purple streak caused by cool nights during the grain filling process. Ears 6-8" long and 1.75-2.25" wide. 14-18 kernel rows with 16 being most common. White cob color. Pendant leaves with large surface area. Tall plants 9.5-12'. Green stems. Mid-season maturing, little ear damage, and 30% of plants lodged when grown in 2014 at Heritage Farm. Donated to SSE by Glenn Drowns (IA DR G) who received this variety from Jr Wheeler (KY WH K).
