Long Blood Red

Root dark red/purple. Shape, narrow obtriangular, uniform. Skin semi-smooth. Mostly above soil. Flesh purple with light pink rings. Root length ranges from 4.1-6.4", width, 1.0-1.4" and weight 2.4-3.8 oz. Mature leaves upright, green-purple, purple petiole and veins. BRIX 9.1 Mild flavor, slightly sweet. Acquired by SSE in the 1980s from Epicure Seed, Ltd., of New York. SSE Accession # 106263
