Sundak

Plants up to 6 feet tall. Head diameter 5-9 inches. Both ray and disk flowers yellow. Medium sized cordate shaped leaves. Seeds black with white stripes. Acquired by SSE in mid 1990s. This variety was developed jointly by the North Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station and the Agricultural Research Service, USDA. It was released in 1973 as a confectionery sunflower variety.
