In about 1988, M.H. Ingersoll of Everson, Washington sent seeds of this variety to SSE member Mary Schultz (WA SC M). Mary was seeking heirloom varieties grown by Washington's pioneer settlers to honor the statehood centennial in 1989. SSE Accession # 102585
