Medium to large size roots are elliptic, half buried, bicolor yellow with green and slight red shoulders. Raw roots are dense and dry with a mild flavor and not much sweetness. Cooked roots are bright yellow, dry and creamy, earthy flavor with a Yukon Gold potato taste. Roots 3-6" long, 2-4" wide, and 7-22 oz. Leaves have purple midveins and stalks, are unusually spindly with low surface area, and have long and narrow petioles. Largest leaves 14-19" long and 5-8" wide. This variety was donated to SSE by Robert Wood (KS WO R) of Moran, KS. Previously distributed by SSE under the incomplete name 'Wilhelmsburger.' SSE Accession # 119200
