Long Green

Tall plants have long, slender, curving pods which are green when small and blushed with red as they mature. Pods are distinctly ridged and very spiny. Pods tend to be a bit bumpy as well. Plants have broad leaves and large side branches with thick stems. Medium-high productivity in 2021 planting at Heritage Farm. Pods are edible below 7". This variety is very mild and bland in flavor. Mid to late maturing. This accession matches the description of Long Green listed in the Amzi Godden Co. catalog from 1901. SSE Accession # 114104
