Brandywine is a variety of tomato that is an Amish heirloom. Originally grown in about 1885, it has lasted the test of time and over the years has become known as one of the world's tastiest tomatoes. Brandywine has leaves that resemble those of a potato and have sturdy stalks that support fruits that grow as large as 8 inches across and up to a 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 pounds!. The fruits are nice and firm with clear, thin skinns. The flesh is rosy red and meaty. Perfect to be sliced up for a BLT or to be canned into your favorite sauce or juice. Potato leaves, indeterminate. About 90 days to maturity.
