Crabapple. Fruit is large for a crab. Skin is deep red, darkening to a purple-black. Fruit is juicy, sweet, and tart, with floral notes. Crops heavily and benefits from fruit thinning. Ripens in October in Zone 4. Phenotyped and confirmed correct. A cross between ‘Dolgo’ and ‘Haralson’ crabapples bred by the Morden Research Station in Manitoba, Canada and introduced in 1952.
